Visa Extension<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Visa extension<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the process of extending the period of your current visa. This means that you can continue to stay in a foreign country without having to leave the country or apply for a new visa. Previously, e-visa could be extended or renewed in Viet Nam, but unfortunately these services has been has been currently suspended by the government until further notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Currently, only the <strong>following visa type<\/strong> can be extended or renewed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vietnam business visa<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.muinexpress.vn\/en\/vietnam-5-year-visa-exemption\/\"><strong>Vietnam 5-year visa exemption certificate<\/strong><\/a> which is still valid but its permitted stay duration,i.e 180 days, ends soon. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3150 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/en.muinexpress.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/visa-extention.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"509\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.muinexpress.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/visa-extention.png 600w, https:\/\/en.muinexpress.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/visa-extention-18x12.png 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 509px) 100vw, 509px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>2. Renewal Visa<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Visa Renewal <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the process of applying for a new visa after your current visa has expired or is about to expire. This is a suitable option if you have an expired visa or are unable to extend your current visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Visa Renewal Process:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 1:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Prepare documents for to the process. Contents and number of documents:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passport or valid international travel document or permanent residence permit issued by a relevant foreign authority to Vietnamese people residing abroad;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Application form for visa exemption certificate with 02 photos (1 photo attached to the application form);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visa exemption certificate, in case of loss, there must be a loss notice;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A certified copy of the original or accompanied by the original for comparison with documents proving the content that needs to be adjusted in the visa exemption certificate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Number of documents: 01 (one) set.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Name of application form: Application form for re-issuance of a visa exemption certificate (NA9).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Step 2: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submit the application to one of the following agencies of the Immigration Department &#8211; Ministry of Public Security. After receiving and reviewing the application, the immigration officer will make the following decision:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the application meets the requirements, the immigration officer will issue a receipt and return it to the applicant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the application does not meet the requirements, the applicant must continue to complete the application.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Step 3: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receive the results. The person who comes to receive the results gives the receipt to the officer who returns the results and signs the receipt.
